South Africa Lunch Break

Early 2011 we developed a game for South African Tourism, the official tourism board of SA.
SAT wanted more tourists to discover the many unknown treasures of South Africa, so we created an online treasure hunt.
During the two week campaign, we used the free newspaper Metro to give hints every day. Using a hint, one could search our online map of SA to discover a new treasure. Being the fastest to find a treasure on a day would give you a bonus prize.
Collecting all treasures in two weeks would allow you to join the final competition for the big prize: a 2 week trip through South Africa.

Results:

  • A record number of 65.000 people played this 2 week online game.
